Plant / Oil History: Grapes are native to Asia, near the Caspian Sea. Egyptians ate grapes at least 6, 000 years ago. They were then brought to Europe and Ancient Greek philosophers praised the ability of grapes to heal but these grapes were usually in the form of wine. This included Homer, the poet who lived about 700 B.C. European folk healers had used the sap of grapes to cure eye and skin ailments. Grape leaves were used to stop pain, inflammation and bleeding. They were then brought to North America with the European settlers in the 1600's.

Plant / Oil Description: The grape plant is a climbing vine that has jagged, large leaves and a stem bark that peels. The grapes come in either green, red or purple.

Loved the oil, it's perfect. Would recommend sealing the lids with tape as well, for shipping although of course mine didn't leak :). Wonderful product at a great price. Got this for personal use, baths etc, love it.

Rating:
As other reviewers have pointed out, grapeseed oil is light and highly absorbent. There is no strong scent (or any scent) to interfere or compete with any e.o. you might be using in addition. Desirable carrier oil.

Rating:
I love this oil! I use it in my body butters and creams. The price here is unbeatable. Grapeseed oil has a multitude of benefits, but unfortunately, many popular companies use solvents to extract them (like hexane), and traces of those solvents can remain in the product. Soap Goods sells COLD PRESSED grapeseed oil, meaning no harmful ingredients are in the oil and you get all of the wonderful qualities. I just used some today and it sinks into the skin very quickly, not at all greasy. It does look somewhat green, but it did not affect the color of my body butter when I made it. I will definitely be buying more.
